The Pensions Council
The Pensions Council (An Chomhairle Pinsean) was set up to advise the Minister for Social Protection on matters relating to policy on pensions. The Council is to represent and protect the consumer interest and help to ensure that the system has a far stronger consumer focus.
The Council was established under section 26B of the Pensions Act, 1990.

What we do
The Council’s only task is to advise the Minister. We cannot provide information or advice on pensions to individuals or groups. Please do not contact us with questions about pensions, as we will not be able to help. However, please see our helpful links page where queries may be directed.
