Pensions Council submission to the Pensions Authority consultation on pension reform
12 October 2016: The Pensions Council has made a submission to the Pensions Authority regarding their consultation on the reform and simplification of supplementary funded private pensions.
In brief, the Council broadly supports the thrust of the proposals outlined in the Paper, subject to the comments contained in the Council’s submission. The raising of standards for the governance of pension schemes, e.g. in relation to authorisation and trustees, is good in itself and should lead to a substantial and desirable reduction in the total number of schemes on the market.
